2019 Recipient ~ Ronald Pleban

Ron Pleban is a Career Counselor at a small college in Upstate, NY. In his role, he prepares diverse students for their next steps in life after college. He also builds relationships with employers to connect them with students and faculty members on campus. After attending MACCA’s annual conferences in 2017 and 2018, Ron volunteered to chair the 2019 conference. With the help and guidance of MACCA's leadership team, he has been working hard to keep everything moving for this year’s conference. In addition to his MACCA duties, he recently completed his M.A. degree in Higher Education Administration at Stony Brook University .Testimony: “Ron volunteered to be co-chair of the annual conference not knowing that he would lose his cochair; he has stayed on task with the help of executive board members. He made sure we were being fiscally sound, rounded up concurrent speakers for sessions and got the necessary information needed for credit hour approval. He has helped with the website and will continue to assist MACCA in the next year, and hopefully longer, as our technology chair; a critical role that we needed to fill.”“ Ron has embodied MACCA Leadership as he assumed the Conference Chair role for MACCA. He has proven dedication and resourcefulness as he assumed full responsibility for programing and with character and integrity. Ron redesigned tools used to capture this year’s proposals and continues to work along with the Leadership members in updating the website for the event.”
