From resumes and cover letters to interview preparation and networking, AI offers tremendous opportunities to enhance career transitions, provided it is used transparently, responsibly, and in ways that preserve authenticity. Dr. Lisa Tarsi Andrewsserves as the Director of Integrated Career Development at Georgetown University, where she leads initiatives that advance career readiness and student success through innovative, integrated career services. In addition to her work in higher education, Dr. Andrews is the founder of Look Forward, a private career counseling practice dedicated to helping individuals navigate career transitions with confidence and purpose. Dr. Andrews holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Master of Science in Counseling & Human Relations, and Ph.D. in Higher Education, and is an active leader in the career development profession. She currently serves as Co-Chair of MACCA and holds the Certified Career Counselor (CCC) and Certified Master of Career Services (CMCS) credentials through the National Career Development Association (NCDA). |
Friday, December 4 Clients experiencing change often feel overwhelmed, uncertain, or stuck before they are ready to take action. Whether navigating a change in academic direction, career uncertainty, workforce disruption, graduation, returning to work, caregiving responsibilities, or retirement, clients frequently need help making sense of what is happening before determining what comes next. This interactive session introduces a practical framework for helping clients build resilience by identifying strengths and resources, activating support systems, and exploring meaningful next steps. Participants will learn how career development theories, assessments, mentoring, networking, and career exploration strategies can be applied more intentionally through a resilience-focused lens. Attendees will leave with practical tools and activities that can be adapted for counseling, coaching, workshops, groups, mentoring programs, and virtual settings. A longtime member of the Middle Atlantic Career Counseling Association (MACCA), Cheryl has served in numerous leadership roles, including President. She is certified in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI), Strong Interest Inventory®, and FIRO-B®.
